The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber is pleased to announce the realignment of five members of its team to better serve the organization and its 2,750+ members.

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber is pleased to announce the realignment of five members of its team to better serve the organization and its 2,750+ members.

Effective April 1, Sarah Boyarko will be chief operating officer; Kim Calvert will become senior vice president of Marketing & Member Services; Shea MacMillan will head the Chamber’s economic development efforts as vice president of Economic Development; Michael McGiffin will become president of the Chamber Foundation; and Melissa Maiorano will become director of Workforce Development.

During his four years at the Chamber, MacMillan, formerly director of Economic Development Projects, has earned a reputation across the state as a polished economic development professional. His promotion to vice president enables his further collaboration with the Valley's other economic development organizations, TeamNEO and JobsOhio.

His move also affords Boyarko the ability to increase her focus on and expand her duties as the chief operating officer, a role she has been in since 2018 while dually overseeing the Chamber’s economic development efforts.

President & CEO Guy Coviello said, "There is nobody more qualified to run the day-to-day operations of a chamber than Sarah. Having her make critical, daily decisions at the speed of business will improve our organization and better serve our members."

Calvert, formerly vice president of her division, has been leading two departments—Member Services, which includes membership and events, and Marketing—for several years. Under her leadership, the Chamber has experienced a substantial increase in membership, now more than 2,700, and added several new member benefit programs and successful events. She has also increased her role in executive level strategy for the organization.

In a short amount of time, McGiffin—initially hired on as a director—has surpassed fundraising expectations and quickly earned the respect of the philanthropic community. Likewise, in a short amount of time, Maiorano—hired on as a manager—has exceeded expectations representing the Chamber in a major new Valley initiative, Ohio To Work, and is about to launch additional workforce development partnerships.
