The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber and The Youngstown Foundation are excited to announce a new Lunch & Learn Series created in partnership to provoke thought and community discussion on some of the most important topics for the Valley.

Lynnette Forde, president of The Youngstown Foundation, said, “This series will provide an opportunity for the non-profit industry and minority-owned businesses to share in the richness of the Regional Chamber’s networking and professional services. Non-profit corporations play a critical role in the health and vibrancy of our community and thus deserve greater philanthropic attention and support.”

The monthly series will include topics that focus on public health, opportunities for minority business enterprises, the role of philanthropy in economic development and more.

The first program, “Arts & Culture: Driving Our Economy,” will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 17 at the DeYor Performing Arts Center in Youngstown. A panel discussion will include Angela Meleca, executive director of Ohio Citizens for the Arts, and Dan Katona, deputy director of the Ohio Arts Council, among others, who will discuss the role arts and culture institutions play in—and the direct impact they have on—driving our state’s and Valley’s economies. 2019 data analyzed by the National Endowment for the Arts and Bureau of Economic Analysis illustrates that the arts and cultural industry in the U.S. added 4.3 percent directly to the nation’s GDP, for a total approaching a trillion dollars ($919.7 billion).

The luncheon is open to the public and $10 per person to attend. Registration is open at regionalchamber.com.

Guy Coviello, president & CEO of the Regional Chamber, said, "It is important in every community for philanthropy and business to forge new relationships so that together we can increase economic prosperity and improve the quality of life for everyone.

“We share The Youngstown Foundation's belief that helping our charitable, scientific and educational institutions will improve the mental, moral and physical well-being of our citizens. I believe the foundation shares our desire to make the community an ideal place in which to live, learn, work and play."
