The Farmers Charitable Foundation recently invested $5,000 in the Youngstown Warren Regional Chamber Foundation for 2019 economic development initiatives in the Valley.

The Chamber Foundation supports several economic development programs, including a robust business retention, expansion and attraction effort, the award-winning JobsNow workforce development and talent attraction program and the nationally recognized Eastern Ohio Military Affairs Commission.

"With support from local companies like Farmers Trust, we continue to stabilize the local economy," said Regional Chamber Foundation President Guy Coviello. "Our team is creating 1,000 new jobs at the TJX HomeGoods Distribution Center, helping many local companies fill their workforce needs, and growing the footprint at the Youngstown Air Reserve Station, which is the Valley's third-largest employer."

So far this year, the economic development programs supported by the Regional Chamber Foundation, have resulted in nine completed projects that generated more than $200 million of investment, 1,121 new jobs, $25.4 million in new payroll, 274 retained jobs and $13.5 million in retained payroll. In addition, there are 17 pending projects expected to result in $1.4 billion of investment, 607 new jobs and $25.5 million in new payroll over the next 24 months.
