Mahoning Valley Safety Council

The Mahoning Valley Safety Council (MVSC) offers solutions to reduce workplace injury and manage workers' compensation claim frequency and severity.

Established in the 1970s as the Greater Youngstown Safety Council, and later, as the Manufacturer's Association, the Mahoning Valley Safety Council is a private, non-profit public service organization dedicated to workplace safety awareness among small, medium and large employers and their employees. Whether your business is in the service, health, retail or manufacturing industries, the MVSC offers something for everyone.

MONTHLY MEETINGS

Monthly meetings provide a place for members to discuss similar safety concerns and solutions with fellow members. An Ohio BWC Division of Safety & Hygiene Safety consultant attends each meeting and is available to provide members with one-on-one guidance regarding specific safety needs.

In order for businesses to be eligible for a 2 percent rebate from the Ohio BWC, attendance is mandatory at 10 meetings from July 2022 through June 2023 (or, businesses may attend 8 or 9 meetings and earn 1 to 2 external training credits through BWC-sponsored in-person or virtual training programs, as well as in-person training from other external sources).
