Strategic Initiatives

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber has remade itself into an organization that, with several partners, will focus its energy and resources on transformative strategies to prepare the area for sustained economic and job growth.

Those big-picture initiatives are part of an aggressive strategy meant to increase economic prosperity and improve the quality of life in the region.

The Regional Chamber isn’t tackling these initiatives alone, but with key partners that include nonprofit and philanthropic groups, governments and other economic development agencies that collectively share the same Valley Vision.

The initiatives are:

Population & Talent Expansion

To meet the rapid rate of job creation in the region, the Chamber is co-piloting an effort to grow the Valley’s population by retaining, returning and receiving talent, as well as increasing workforce participation rates by removing barriers to employment.

Housing

The Regional Chamber and its economic development partners launched a housing strategy in Trumbull and Mahoning counties to meet growing demand for suitable and affordable housing in the region. The focus areas include improving the existing housing stock, developing new houses and leveraging available resources.

DEIA

Our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility Program is committed to supporting and strengthening the minority-, women-, veteran and disabled-owned businesses in the Valley by building opportunity networks and programming that provide these diverse businesses with resources and guidance.

Leadership

The Regional Chamber will expand programming to include a government leadership academy and programs that develop the next generation of business and community leaders across all walks and backgrounds. More details are forthcoming about the leadership academy.

Center for Nonprofit Excellence

Under the umbrella of the Regional Chamber is the Center for Nonprofit Excellence, a standalone organization that will provide training, resources and individualized consulting services to nonprofits to help increase their impact on the community.
