David Wilaj joined the Economic Development division of the Regional Chamber in February 2022 as Director of the Mahoning Valley Logistics Council.
He is responsible for launching the newly formed Council, with the goal of driving initiatives that create a cohesive and innovative logistical environment in the Youngstown-Warren region. He works as a conduit between the members of the Council and Chamber, who are collaborating to identify the biggest challenges and opportunities for the industry, while also providing educational resources, advocacy efforts and expert insight. Efforts from the Council will also be a main driver for infrastructure projects throughout the Valley. Additionally, Wilaj conducts business retention, expansion and attraction meetings with local companies in related industries.
Prior to joining the Chamber, Wilaj was an Economist and Market Research Analyst for the PRINTING United Alliance, the world’s largest graphic arts trade association. For three years he worked with some of the largest OEMs in the industry on custom research projects, provided member organizations with industry and general economic updates and presented ‘state of the industry’ updates at conferences and events across the country.
Wilaj graduated Summa Cum Laude with an honors B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Business Economics and earned his Master of Arts in Financial Economics, both at Youngstown State University. He participated in the University Scholars program and Young Business Leaders of the Valley, served as vice president of Beta Gamma Sigma and sat on the Graduate College’s Student Advisory Committee.
