Amber Henriquez
YSU Intern for the Ohio Export Internship Program

Amber Henriquez is the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber’s 2025 summer intern through the Ohio Export Internship Program at Youngstown State University. A junior majoring in Economics and Business Analytics, Amber is passionate about learning, supporting others and helping local businesses tap into international growth opportunities.
This summer, Amber is assisting the Chamber with a variety of export-focused initiatives. Her work includes building partnerships with the Small Business Development Center and Export Assistance Network at YSU to connect Chamber members—particularly small to mid-sized companies—with critical resources to support their import/export efforts. She is also conducting member surveys to identify export-related challenges and assess interest in expanding global operations.
Amber is dedicated to raising awareness about underutilized tools available to businesses, such as grants, state programs and expert consulting services. She helps inform members about current global trade issues, including tariffs and supply chain disruptions, and supports international outreach through the planning and promotion of trade missions and educational webinars.
Her efforts also include streamlining communication between the Export Assistance Network and the Chamber, exploring the potential for a CEO roundtable on trade and economic issues and researching a public customs bond program aimed at strengthening the region’s trade infrastructure.
Amber entered the internship with a strong foundation in international trade, having completed a semester-long course through the program and earning five industry-recognized certifications: Export Documentation, Incoterms 2020, Duty Drawback, International Terms of Payment and Export Compliance. Her training was enriched through hands-on workshops and expert guest lectures, preparing her to make meaningful contributions throughout the summer.
The Chamber is excited to welcome Amber to the team and values the energy and insight she brings to advancing global trade opportunities for the region.
