Vision for Education in the Mahoning Valley
By 2010, residents of the Mahoning Valley will be engaged
in lifelong learning that enables them to pursue productive
futures and contribute to the community.
Our
schools will offer high-quality college preparatory, career
and technical programs in safe environments that are conducive
to learning. Good teachers will emphasize active learning,
the use of technology, and a rich, diverse curriculum.
Educational
organizations, businesses, political leaders and community
members will work in partnership to support and promote lifelong
learning.
Communities
will support a positive culture in the Mahoning Valley that
encourages our young people to make their homes here.
Residents
will value education and provide adequate resources to increase
opportunities to the success of individuals of all ages and
the economic and cultural growth of the community as a whole.
